Donations……Youza!

The subject drives me crazy.  I lose sleep over it.

Your timely gifts have been priceless to STA.

This Blog is a Thank You to our Donors to Straight Ahead Outreach-Taking Back Your Life Inc. (STA)

I cringe when i think about raising funds or asking you all for funds.

It is the main and only aspect of this work we do that i simply do not care for.

Yet, i realize it is something i have to do.

What i seek to do today by this blog is to tell each and everyone of you that i/we at STA really completely appreciate your donations.  The words “Thank You” simply do not say enough.  Seriously.

When we get a donation i typically send out an email as soon as possible, within 48 hours.  Then i will typically also send an ecard from our personal Blue Mountain account.  It all just never seems to be enough to me.   At times i will also make a Thank You phone call.  I never seem to know when it is appropriate to call a donor.  At times i know a donor just wants to be that, simply a donor and doesn’t really want any communication or connection personally with the orgs staff.  Other times i know the donor pretty well and our relationship is very deep.

All of it keeps me up at night.   The asking for monies, the Thank You’s and if i thanked everyone on time, did them properly, didn’t forget anyone and if the donor believed, really believed i was sincere.  THAT makes me lose sleep like crazy.  Seriously.

I do not ever want a donor to feel unappreciated.  It would horrify me if they ever felt like they were an ATM to our organization.  I read those articles all the time on the web about how donors feel that way at times. 

One thing i would like you all to know….The best way i believe i can truly Thank You is to use your donation gifts wisely in working my tail off helping those in need and the community.  This i can guarantee you.
