It is about Responsibility. Accountability. Ours, as a 501c3 Public Charity
STA is here to HELP the Cities in which we operate, Not to Blame them or place further burden on them, but rather to help lessen their burden.
As to what we as a Society label as Homelessness:
STA believes the City has a job to manage the City and provide infrastucture within the City. We believe the Police departments job is to do the job they were intended and trained to do which is to Protect and Serve the Citizens within the law.
With that said. STA believes the HAO’s (Homeless Assistance Orgs) be they Faith Based or not, Churches or not, have and own the Responsibility to provide the ongoing support to our homeless Friends In Need, due to the donated funds by the General Public given to such organizations no matter what size they may be, in relation to their sizes. This means, it is Not the City’s job or the Police departments job to get to those in need and give them food, counseling and direction, clothing, emotional support, transportation or to deal with their alcohol or drug induced episodes. IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY. We, the HAO’s who state we are formed to assist the homeless, poor, underprivileged and so on, we own the Responsibility to do just that.
Plain and Simple Fact. Organizations like ours, must rely on folks like You for the funds to operate.
Folks like You, need to rely on Folks like us to do the work.
HELP SOMEONE “TAKE BACK THEIR LIFE” TODAY!
It is our Responsibility as those who state we are in the business to assist the homeless Friends In Need to Provide the following at a very minimum in order to move them forward to self-reliance:
1) On the street contact, support and guidance.
2) Relief/Intervention to local Police departments of those of our Friends In Need who are creating “Nuisance Calls.”
3) Emotional support, Counseling and Direction on a 24/7, as needed availability
4) Transportation to and from appointments
5) Clothing, food, showers, laundry services
6) Spending Extensive Time to get to know the Personality of our Friends In Need such as legal, emotional makeup, family issues, needs and desires, likes and dislikes and more. Getting to know the entire scope of the Friend In Need’s psyche as much as possible. Yes, it takes time. Yes, it takes sacrifice.
7) Creative location and placement in housing once the Friend In Need is properly prepared and ready.
8) To help prevent, limit and clean up messes left by us and those in need whom we assist.
We, all of us are on this earth to help each other in the way Jesus wants. THAT, alone is our Purpose, you need not seek any other. He wants us to show them, to teach them, to understand them, to be compassionate with them. To be there for them, time and time again. Time and time again. Matt: 18, verse 22
STA believes, once the City provides and maintains the infrastructure, numerous services and safety, it is our Responsibility as a 501c3 Public Charity to provide the support necessary to those in need, so as to prevent them from taxing the City’s resources further.
To do all of the above mentioned, it takes YOU to help us with the funds to carry out this critically needed work. We in turn give you our word through Jesus Christ that your funds will not unfairly, unreasonably ever compensate anyone employed by STA now or in the future. Currently, as of 1/6/2013 no one at STA makes a salary of any kind and have not since 1985 although we do hope to one day. You may see much of our info at www.guidestar.org . In addition, our paperwork which was submitted to the IRS and from which we were awarded our 501c3 status shows our future salary hopes and also details the restrictions and limits of any future salaries. Salaries are secondary to the needs of those in need.
It is about Responsibility. Accountability. Ours, as a 501c3 Public Charity.
