How We Apply Your Donations…..

I wanted to take a moment and try to make sure you understand how we apply your donations.

First of all, we, Straight Ahead Outreach (Taking Back Your life) Inc. (STA)  are very small, yet we do do extensive work.

Nobody associated with STA receives a wage of any kind.  We would like to, but the needs of those we assist come first.  Those are God‘s orders.  

Our organization is not a large complicated one with extensive red tape.

STA does whatever it takes.  We keep it simple and we simply do it.

No red tape to those we help.  No strings attached.  Again, God’s orders.

STA does NOT believe in handing out “Vouchers” for the needs.

STA chooses to simply do it.

Example: The “norm” in our specific industry of assisting the needy, the poor, the underprivileged and or the depressed is for an organization to hand a “Voucher” for a daily or monthly bus pass to a client or even the actual bus pass and then move them on their way to looking for a job, housing, doctor appointment etc.  

STA chooses not to do that but rather take those we help ourselves to where they need to go.  WHY?  Because it gives us much more valuable time to physically see how that person in need is doing and learn more about their needs and or situations.  Does it cost more this way?  Yes, but the information obtained far outweighs the cost.  Many times the information is priceless as it helps STA help those in need much easier, and quicker.

Ok, so, How We Apply Your Donations…..

1)  Everything is done per a specific need

2)  The Dollar amount we ask for is the amount that goes to the specific need minus our PayPal fees of 2.2% plus .30 cents of each transaction.  Example: If you give $50.00, PayPal automatically takes $1.40 of that Donation.  My wife and i make up the difference of all those fees out of our personal funds.

3)   $500.00 – So if we ask for $500 and you Donate through our PayPal Donate buttons which is the best way to Donate to STA, STA will have a transaction fee of $11.30.  STA receives $488.70 to apply to the need.

4)  So, out of that $488.70 as noted above….100%…every single penny of that goes to the specific need for which we are raising funds for.

5)  Not a dime typically goes to gasoline in our Mobile Crisis Outreach van.  Not a dime goes for repairs to that van.  Not a dime goes to office supplies or cell phone bills or wages or anything else.  Not one penny.  

6)  When we say it goes to the “Specific Need” we mean directly to the needs of that individual or family. Not to operational needs of our organization.  Most all operational needs are taken care of out of our personal funds which are very limited.  

7)  We post separate blogs all the time requesting funds for gasoline, repairs and other operational needs for our organization. We hardly ever get Donations for those needs.  We are always in need for funds for gasoline and other operational costs of helping those in need.  There are a few key friends of STA who have come through and literally saved our organization when we needed it most.  They are sent from God for sure!
