PROJECT *CLEAN-UP/Gulf to Bay Blvd, Clearwater, FLorida*

STA is here to HELP the Cities in which we operate, Not Blame them.
Everything we do including Project Clean-Up is made possible by Jesus Christ and performed in HIS name.
Volunteers are needed and appreciated!
Straight Ahead Outreach-Taking back Your Life Inc., (STA) along with our belief in Nonprofit Responsibility and Accountability is going to “Adopt Gulf to Bay Blvd” in an effort to keep it clean. It will be done via our Mobile Crisis Outreach van as pictured below. You may have seen us in Your Community.
**Update 3-11-2013: We have not been able to do this as much as we would have hoped due to lack of funds, but we are hoping to increase our efforts soon.
If this Project *Clean-UP/Gulf to Bay Blvd* is a success, we will add more locations to Project *Clean-Up* to include additional areas of Clearwater, FL and we will also add locations in Pinellas County from St. Petersburg, FL, all the way up to Tarpon Springs, FL. Basically, we will perform this project where ever we go. So far we have performed *Project*Clean-UP* in Clearwater, FL. and Largo, FL.
*****PROJECT CLEANUP will be carried out typically on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays…..weekly. Our Main route will be in the area of Gulf to Bay Blvd in Clearwater, but we will also go into Largo, Pinellas Park, St. Petersburg and more as we travel all around in those areas just about daily. Also, if we happen to be in an area where we see shopping carts or trash on a different day of the week and we have time, we will pick it up also. As stated before, this is not a one time event, but rather an ongoing project.
WHAT: Picking up trash and discarding it, locating and picking up shopping carts from local grocery & department stores such as Target Stores, Publix, Walmart, Dollar General, Sam’s Club and more. We will return the carts to their respective places of business.
WHY: Many times when nonprofits “help” those in the clutches of homelessness by handing out food and other items especially in groups, it ends up creating a good amount of trash. Someone has to pick it up and i do not believe the entire weight of this should be on the city services. Also, many times the trash is often wrongly assumed to be left behind by one involved in homelessness and our desire is to remove that misconception.
Should those we assist on the streets pick it up themselves? Yes, that is accountability, it applies to them also.
How about if we say this…..”If maybe we as a nonprofit, one with a Mission and Purpose which is to provide relief to the poor, underprivileged, distressed and depressed with a focus on the homeless. IF WE take the first step, the lead and start picking up some of the trash some of those we help will take the lead and pitch in.”
Either way………..
It is about Responsibility. Accountability. Ours, as a 501c3 Public Charity.
