This morning satan chuckled at me as he took our 1995 Chevrolet Mobile Crisis Outreach van down once again. It is our only vehicle. We had much work to do today and tonight. It has been down twice now since we had the transmission repaired due to problems with that repair. Yes it has over 240,000 miles on it but it still does great work.
Tonight, satan is laughing at me at STA. He has our Mobile Crisis Outreach van at a shop where we cannot get to it or start it. It is not running and we have not heard from the shop to tell us what is wrong. satan loves that. Our Mobile Crisis Outreach van is one of our most important tools to do damage to his cause.
Tonight, a 30 year old female will be released from jail here in Pinellas County at approximately 11:00pm. We were called and asked for assistance to pick her up. Normally i would go without hesitation.
It is important, extremely important.
I had to say no. It broke my heart but not my Soul. We, STA will not be able to help this time.
satan, he is laughing right now, has been all day at me.
Thats ok satan, go ahead……laugh your guts out.
I am not done with you! I will be coming for you, all of us will, with the strength of Jesus Christ and His Father in Heaven Jehovah God Almighty, so start looking over YOUR shoulder!

When i tell stories here i know many of you notice i do not go into alot of specific detail. It is intentional as we believe that is how Jesus would want it. Typically we do things very quietly, without a lot of fanfare.
My story tonight is one of many that never fails to disturb me. One that created tears for the umpteenth time.
I headed out to pick up a couple tote bags from someone who was giving them away. As always, i keep alert for Jesus’s direction to seek someone He is looking for, watching out for.
As i drove along Gulf to Bay Blvd in Clearwater, Fl., at 7:30pm, Jesus directed me to an empty building on a large lot. I drove around the building and could feel a pull to go around and in between one of the other structures on the lot. As i came around a corner of the structure there was a man in need in his manual wheelchair.
The catch here is my wife Pat had just spoke to me about this certain man she had seen and he had stuck out to her. And here he was. Jesus pointing him out to me in His normal fashion.
It was raining. Not hard but still raining. He is in a wheelchair because he lost half his leg. No, he is not a vet, but he is one of Jesus’s Sheep.
Jesus, was looking for this one, so i could bring him what he needed for the night.
The man in need and i spoke for about 30 minutes. I gave him some food and snacks/nuts, soap, shampoo, a shaver and toothbrushes and toothpaste. He needs shoes, well one actually. So i will get that for him tomorrow morning and bring it to him along with a couple more shavers as i only had one left on the Mobile Crisis Outreach Van.
Here is a man with only one leg, in a wheelchair, i the rain, and he will be sleeping under an overhang tonight.
It just isn’t right.
I told him that Jesus was looking for him, that HE wanted to hear from him….and the man in need kissed the cross around his neck. As i said this the man in need teared up and so did i when i seen him do it. I usually do.
I will look for this man often. i will try to do whatever we can for him. This one Jesus wants to be ok. It is our job given to us by Jesus to help Him make sure this man in need is ok.
As i looked around there was a lot of trash on the site. I asked if it was his. He told me yes and that it was his and his other two friends in need trash and that they were to be getting it out of there. He said maybe they had just been to lazy. Honest, i like that.
I pulled two large 30 gallon size trash bags from the van and told him that if he fills them for me of the trash i will come tomorrow and take it away for him. he was excited and promised they would do it. I will go by tomorrow and see. If it is there in the bags i provided i will pick it up and take it away. If it is not, then i will pack it up myself and take it away. It is part of what i call Our Responsibility as a 501c3 Nonprofit helping those in need on the streets.
I pray to and ask God in Heaven in Jesus’s name that Jesus will turn his face to this man in need tonight and surround him with His vast wings and shelter him. I pray that Jesus shares His strength, courage and wisdom with this man in need. I pray Jesus gives this man the strength to get off the streets. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
I know for a fact Jesus is and will continue to shelter him. It simply is not in the same way you or i would.

Do you ever feel like you are behind the Eight Ball? Or maybe have been for some time? I can relate.
“If I Had…..”
If i had a Secular job, at a “for profit” company i would be making a wage, a salary. That would be awesome to have money in my pocket once in a while to be very honest.
“If I had…..”
If i had a Secular job i would feel better that i was able to contribute to finances at home.
“If I Had…..”
BUT, if i had a secular job, i would not be able to make the impacts Straight Ahead Outreach makes when we are available to do this work we do.
We would not be available to provide the Services we provide in the time frames of which we provide them.
We would not have been able to pick up a Friend In Need from jail at 4:30am in the morning.
We would not have been able to respond to the emergency call at 10:00pm in the evening, or reach out to the homeless girl in her pickup in an alley the other day.
We would not have been able to go to Court for the entire day across the bay in Tampa, FL , Hillsborough County and speak to the Judge on behalf of another one of our Friends In Need and accompany his girlfriend back home spending some quality time speaking with her.
I could go on and on, but i think you see my point.
However, i am seeking some secular employment though as my wife and i also need to survive.
Behind The Eight Ball indeed.
Maybe Jehovah God and His Son Jesus Christ have another plan….if He does…i wish he would share it with me!
:-))!
