A Sad Day indeed for so many reasons and on so many levels.
A friend of ours brother, homeless, who they had not been able to locate, has passed on in a far away state. Yesterday, 7/8/2011
He was in his early 50′s.
Our hearts go out to his family.
Now, they know where he is.
Jimmy Lee is safe. Jimmy Lee is warm. Jimmy Lee will never again be without, scared, alone and lonely.
Jimmy Lee is Home.
Jimmy Lee, is no longer homeless.
We, all of us are on this earth to help each other in the way Jesus wants. THAT, alone is our Purpose, you need not seek any other. He wants us to not give up on others. He wants us to show them, to teach them, to understand them, to be compassionate with them. To be there for them, time and time again. Time and time again. Matt: 18, verse 22
A family, once they have been through the proverbial wringer with one of their family members cannot always help in the manner in which help is needed.
It is then, that the Responsibility is placed on the agency or ministry coming into contact with these Friends In Need. Especially those commissioned to do Jesus’s work.
That commission, needs to be taken extremely seriously. Intensely. Is Jesus complacent? Hardly.
Our “system” is complacent, our system failed Jimmy Lee, our system and network of ministries failed Jimmy Lee and Jimmy Lee is just another sad example of that.
The Responsibility is ours, 1st as followers of Jesus, and as agencies, churches or a ministry.
Jesus has said, Ye cannot help him, Ye have not helped him according to my ways, so now, We bring him back home.
I never had the opportunity to meet Jimmy Lee. He was somewhere in another state.
Many homeless Friends In Need are described as an addict. They are labeled as an addict.
I ask you this…… How would Jesus describe them? What would He call them or label them? Would He call them an addict or an alcoholic?
We can be complacent in everything we do or we can be driven to carry out the call from Jesus to help others with intensity.
Which do you choose?
For those of you who are not believers in a creator and His son Jesus, or maybe even atheists, then I ask you…. will you also let society as it is on this Earth fool you into being complacent or will you take the energies emitting from the Universe and intensify your efforts?
Which do you choose?
Although i have a strong, intimate relationship with Jesus and His Father Jehovah, i am not the “have a blessed day” type of person, never have been. I do not say that lightly at the end of every conversation or meeting. That is just me. However, today…….
Jesus is welcoming Jimmy Lee back Home.
Now, Jimmy Lee, Have a Blessed Day Sir!
